How The Dolphin Is Made The first step in making a dolphin is to begin heating up a cool pyrex glass rod. Next, Jay attaches a rod to what is going to be the dolphin's head. This is what he uses to hold the hot dolphin while making
it. Jay then shapes the dolphin's body by getting a large part of the glass hot.
Here, Jay is using a flattener to help get the curve of the dolphin body to just the right shape.
Then, Jay attaches the dolphin's tail fins, using a smaller rod.
After the tail fins, Jay uses a smaller rod to attach a dorsal fin.
Finally, Jay uses a small rod to attach the two side fins to the dolphin body.
And here is the finished piece, after the holding rod has been removed.
